About Us: Management Team
Mark Gianinni, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Gianinni provides the vision and innovation that is the engine of Accel’s success. His ability to recognize market needs and deliver solutions has been evident throughout his career, beginning 25 years ago when he co-founded of Home Cinema, Inc. With proprietary software system and processes as its core, Home Cinema was the first to bring to market a “video store within a store” concept which was deployed by top supermarket chains like Albertsons and Kroger, Later in his career he founded Strand Communications, Inc. which provided a single gateway for multiple disparate systems within hospital environments.  Immediately after selling SCI to Telco, Inc. in 1989, Gianinni founded Datalinc to pursue using satellite as a broad medium for communications applications. Datalinc was the first independent shared VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) hub in the U.S, providing a VSAT platform to Fortune 500 companies that included Ashland Oil, Standard Register, Providian Insurance and US Bancorp. In 1994, Mr. Gianinni recognized that an online data communication network was a natural and necessary progression for retail, where the use of multiple dial-up lines for various countertop point-of-sale devices and back office applications is the rule. In April 1998, Datalinc changed its name to ThruComm and began to pursue the market for an end-to-end managed network solution for retail and EFT businesses. Mr. Gianinni went on to develop the concept for Accel Networks which he co-founded in 2002.
